Mrachek Law Shareholders Defeat $17M Claim in Jury Trial

Mrachek Law Shareholders Lou Mrachek and Greg Weiss received a complete defense verdict in favor of their client, Christie’s International Real Estate, after an eight-day jury trial in the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida. Plaintiffs, Royal Palm Properties, LLC (“Royal Palm”) and Mr. David Roberts, alleged that a brochure
mailed by CIRE’s affiliate containing a testimonial of a former client had defamed them. The litigation had been pending for 6 years before Mrachek Law was hired. The jury found for CIRE on all claims, including Royal Palm and Mr. Roberts’ claims for Defamation, False or Misleading Advertising under Florida law, False Advertising under Federal Law and Trade Libel. Prior to trial Plaintiffs claimed $17 million in damages. The trial team also included Board Certified Appellate Practitioner and Mrachek Law Shareholder Alan Rose. Mr. Rose stated, “We were brought on board to move this matter to trial, and handle the trial efficiently and effectively. We achieved justice for our client in the courtroom.” Mrachek Law is a boutique business and construction litigation law firm with offices in West Palm Beach and Stuart, Florida.
